What do we do
Online Advertising helps in supporting the free Internet. It is the primary way that most web owners and app developers can obtain money to help them produce the content users want. Not every advertising shown to users is relevant to their interests, though. Interest-based advertising is attempting to make the ads you see more exciting and relevant to you. We do this by leveraging the varieties of sites you have visited online and additional information that does not individually identify you directly. We handle interest-based advertising on our network and work with our SSP/Publishers to assist them in doing the same on their websites and apps.
Without interest-based advertising, we will still serve a non-target generic Ad, and those ads are unlikely to have anything to do with products or services that you may be interested in seeing. With interest-based advertising, you will encounter offers and Advertisements that are more prone to be useful to you.
There is also a secondary benefit to you: businesses that create websites and app developers both rely on the income from interest-based advertising to support the creation of new content that they produce. Without such revenues, the content would either not be available. Or the users would have to subscribe/pay to access it.
How to Opt-Out
Opt-Out: what does it mean? In general, “opting out” means that you want Adkernel to limit the information it collects and stores about your computer or device and not target ads based on your interests to your browser or device. Your opt-out is only applicable to the AdKernel Platform and does not opt you out from platforms provided by third-party companies. Please see “Other ways to opt-out” below. If you use multiple browsers, computers or mobile devices and wish to limit the information AdKernel collects and stores or do not want to receive AdKernel interest-based advertising on any of them, you must opt-out from each browser, computer, and mobile device individually. Please note that if cookies are not enabled in your browser, or if you use specific ad-blocking tools, our opt-out mechanism may not work correctly. Please also note that deleting your cookies does not opt you out.
Opt-out of interest-based advertising on this browser (if using a browser):
When opting-out, we record the opt-out on our servers, and in-browser environments we will attempt to place an HTTP opt-out cookie onto your browser or device. When you opt-out, AdKernel will collect and store information from your browser or device only as needed to honor your opt-out and for limited research and development purposes to improve our browser- and device-recognition technology, which also helps to enhance our ability to honor your opt-out. When you opt-out, AdKernel also stops targeting interest-based advertising to that browser. Please note that you will need to renew your opt-out choice if you clear your cookies or use a different browser or device.
Note that you will still see ads if you opt-out. The ads delivered via AdKernel will just not be as relevant to you. When you opt-out, AdKernel will collect and store information from your device only as needed. For limited research and development purposes to improve our device-recognition technology, which also helps to enhance our ability to honor your opt-out.
